On Saturday, July 13, the Center for Correctional Concerns of the Will County Adult Detention Facility celebrated 40 years of ministry to the inmate population. Almost 70 current and former staff and volunteers gathered at the Joliet Franciscan Center to share their memories of service at the CCC. Founded in 1979, by Sister Vivian Whitehead who served as its director until 1988, the center provides programs that include social service, spiritual guidance, substance abuse education, counseling and placement into treatment programs, bible study opportunities and religious services. The CCC's GED program is very successful. When Sister Vivian left her position at the CCC to become Joliet Franciscan president in 1988, Sister Juanita Ujcik succeeded her as the CCC's director, a position she held until 2009. Sister Vivian returned to the CCC as an educator in 1992.

And I thank You for You have been with me from my very beginning and are still present in my life.
